strangely sweet

April is the cruelest month
Sang the bards of the past-
With the unbeatable summer
Comes the festivities of humanity
Weddings and anniversaries
Ceremonies and funerals
Time takes no orders
Gently casts its spell on all
Celebrations all extend till fall
Birth and death rejoiced differently
For winter blights, yet spring not too far.

  1. I am not sure why used "cruelest", except the heat I enjoyed the fresh green leaves, cool breeze in the morning. But enjoyed reading the verse. How is your practise session.

    1. "Cruelest" was used by Eliot n his poem "The Wasteland", and guess there is another old poet who has referred to the month with the same adjective. Thank you for the comment. And I haven't been able to practice skating for I am not completely recovered.
