Gravity talks!

Gravity (3D) - A sci-fi thriller that showcases a 'space drama', where we see how the astronauts (starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney) survive after colliding with the satellite debris. Apart from the beautiful graphics that seem almost real and that comes hitting straight onto your face, the movie also entails a sense of mixed feelings towards 'silence' (space). The silence is a bliss sometimes for there are none up there in space to hurt one and a bane sometimes for it is lonely to death up there. This movie, kind of, reminds me of a poem "Birches", penned by one of my favourite poets, Robert Frost. The poem deals with a momentary escape from the earth into the world of imagination; a world that takes one away from the earthly responsibilities but in end one mustn't forget that his/her roots still lie in the real world. The challenge exists in fighting through, in fighting hard - in 'living'. 'Gravity' too carries a similar kind of a message (at least I feel so). There aren't any catchy phrases per say but one phrase did sit in my mind (may be because of the way it was told or because of the situation the character was in), "I hate space!" The term 'space' may carry different interpretations for I could relate it to 1. outer space; 2. personal space; and 3. inner space. I enjoyed watching the movie and would give a rating of 4.15 on a scale of 5.0.

    1. I am glad you enjoyed the movie Sir! And I too liked the script. The best scene was when Dr. Stone 'touches' the land - it was so that I too could literally feel the touch of home.

  5. When one loses hope of losing life and gets a chance have a second life, I think that will be really awesome moment, I feel that one cannot describe in words if I am right, I think Dr. Stone might have felt the same when she touches the earth. I will try and write in my blog as well if words permit me to do say. Happy Diwali

    1. You're right, may be some moments or experiences cannot be narrowed down to mere set of words - one should go through the same or a similar situation, only then he/she would be able to comprehend it.
