Yet another blessed moment...

Reasons are many to be grateful and thankful for, one such is a gratitude in verse showered by a student. The life of a teacher, a blessed life indeed.

A TEACHER LIKE YOU
Your fluffy hair, your tiny eyes;
You chubby cheeks, and your rosy lips.
A song, not for a student,
But, for you, a teacher, this is.
You excel in every task.
The amount of knowledge and talent
You carry in bulk.
You shower your knowledge
Upon new, little minds.
You win a lot of hearts,
Within a circuit of time.

A blessed life!

There are many professions that can bring job satisfaction, but most professions are measured by its income. While a teacher's job is one such which brings not only a sense of job satisfaction but also a sense of soul satisfaction. My duty as a teacher is to mould the young minds into ameliorated beings, even if one life is changed for good, the goal is achieved. Keeping aside the aspect of idealistic job, the greatest satisfaction a teacher can get is when her students strive hard to achieve their goals, and somewhere they acknowledge their teachers for having played some role in the making of their lives.

I had a soul satisfying moment yesterday when one of my students wrote a love-cum-gratitude letter to me. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I read through each line, my heart felt a strange pull for these words were so touching. To top it all, there was a poem in the end, which I'll mention it later in the post.

As I read through the letter, I realized that there were some qualities that I possess which actually appeal to my students. And, it's quite obvious that I am going to work hard to pass on positiveness to my students. Such happiness is intangible indeed.

The Poem
Dear teacher, you
personify craziness.
The clock keeps ticking
when I think of you,
The sun moons at me
and I don't seem to realise.
You mean so much to me
that hasn't been named yet.
You are that place where
I wish to go to
when I want to run away
from this fake 'reality'.
One of the best things
learnt from you was
to be myself and to
believe in myself.
Today, I am that person
who chucked that mask
away for good,
which was worn
to 'please' others.
You have taught me to
be a fighter and you
have built me into one,
and for that,
I shall forever be thankful.

a letter to my students...

Dear Students,

In a month's time, you will appear for your final exams. I want you to remember a few things, especially those who are in their final semester.

The scores that you get in your exams will tell you something, but not 'everything'. The examiners don't know who you are, they don't know about your natural ability to dance and entertain, about your penchant for writing and drawing, about your caring nature towards your siblings, about your athletic capabilities and about how trustworthy you are to your friends. I know it because I have seen you closely.

Don't allow these scores to affect your lives. I know that you have been working hard, and that you will do well in the exams. I just want you to have a healthy approach and give in your personal best shot. Life is more important, but these little phases must add to the 'making' of life and not breaking it.

I wish you all good luck.

Love always,
Just Another Caring Teacher

Dear Diary...

Dear Diary,
Today, I write this note to thank you for I have learned of your value. And I want everyone else also to know how important you are in an individual's life. I know that you will not share this note if I had simply written in your pages as you have been extremely loyal to your master by being 'secretive' all through your life.

Last night when I had to make a new entry in your pages, I just took a few minutes to read the past but those few minutes became so precious moments to me. You brought back all the memories with every single detail to the present as if I was living those moments again. The time when I relished the most favourite dish prepared by the loved ones, the moment when I admired nature at its best form and the day when I attended an interview where several friends tried connecting to me to wish me 'Happy Birthday' - all of them danced right in front of my eyes.

I have learned of your power, that you are simply not a memory storage book but a mirror that shows the individual's changes in himself/herself. The moments of joy and sorrow is all history written in your pages and the trust that the master has on you is limitless as the master knows that you will never reveal what is inside you and you would go far to protect those writings even if it was to pledge your life. There is no doubt that the master's secrets can escape from your majestic hands. My dear Diary, you teach me the actual way of living, that how one should always listen and act as a helper to only help the individuals themselves.

I love you for what you are and you are indeed my 'best friend'.

Lots of Love,
Suhasini
