Logitech K480 Multi Purpose Keyboard

I have been searching for a light-weight laptop, or even a Netbook which I could carry around without straining my back, but I did not find any such gadget within a price range of ₹20,000. After surfing through the internet, and pondering over many applications of a new laptop over the old one, I realized that I had a Sony Xperia Z LTE Tablet already, and all I wanted was a mini-keyboard. I searched for such a keyboard and found two mini-keyboards, one from the Logitech brand and the other from the Microsoft brand. The Microsoft keyboard looks sophisticated, and is a portable one, but quite expensive which comes to ₹6,000. The price held me back, and then I took a detailed search on the Logitech K480, the design immediately appealed to me.

Logitech K480 Multi Purpose Keyboard

Logitech K480 Keyboard runs on two 3A-batteries, and works on bluetooth connectivity. The keyboard can be connected to three devices at the same time, and these devices could be desktop, android, IOS or all the three. There is a slot provided which has an inclined hollow space, and the electronic gadgets can be place in the slot, and the inclined built prevents the gadgets from toppling off the keyboard. The keys are really great, and the typing goes smooth and gives the feel of a regular keyboard. There is a knob which works to connect to one of the three devices at a time, and there is an option where a switch can be made from PC to IOS. The keyboard has functional keys of both, an Android and an Apple.

Logitech K480 Multi Purpose Keyboard is light-weight, easy to carry, stylish to flaunt, and less expensive when compared to other keyboards. I purchased it for ₹1,770 from Amazon, and it comes in two colours, black and white.

blossoming kitty-love

A vast lane stood yellow and untrodded,
Two little cubs with stripes took a walk here,
The blue expanse above bore witness there -
The two stripped balls flickered around,
With their tales wavering through the wind,
Little seeds of romance blossoming in the forest
Kitty-love blooming in and out gently in them -
For this is love formed in purity, in innocence,
None shall empower these little hearts, but -
Love for each other will always rule them.

broken pencils

Samaya was a little pretty girl who loved taking care of her pencils. Black, brown, green, yellow, red and few other colours were her favourite. She would draw sharp mountains and straight rivers, and would write down the English alphabet with so much admiration. She adored her pencils, and nearly worshiped them.

One day, a little boy sat beside her in a drawing class. He was chubby and a bit of a bully. The other children disliked him for he would always pick on them. But Samaya was different, she didn't mind his behaviour, and the two became good friends in no time. It was only with him that Samaya would share her much loved pencils. He used her pencils to draw a colourful house, a huge lawn in front of the house, and a four-legged animal which was a combination of a dog and a cow. There were also two kids who stood in front of the house, one in skirt, and the other in trousers. The drawing meant a lot to Samaya, and she would dream of a house as such and picture herself and him standing in front just like how the kids stood in the drawing.

Days passed, and one day when Samaya was in the drawing class, she did not find her friend there, instead she found a note and upon it were two pencils, broken pencils. She slowly moved the broken pencils aside, and read the note. The words literally danced on the white page, capital letters and small letters, all jingled through the note. It read that her friend was changing his school. That day, Samaya didn't have any interest in the drawing class nor did she ponder over her broken pencils.

Life moved on, and amidst broken pencils and broken hearts, Samaya grew up.

little panda

This is a story of a panda. A lonely panda who sits at the edge of a cliff where stands nothing but a huge apple tree. The branches are spread out carrying the red fruits, and under the shade sits the little panda.

Oh, what is it?

What is going on in the panda's mind that has isolated her?

Why isn't she happy?

What grief resides in her little heart?

There falls an apple beside the panda, she sees the dent on the fruit, yet picks it up and takes a bite. The sweetness is still there, and the fruit is nothing but the apple itself. Bruised or rotten, these are still apples. The sweet juice is reaped when ripe, and sour is fermented to make an even better drink, the cider.

The panda's eyes were wet, sweet or cider, the apple had cast a spell on her. She mused over the magic, and decided to let go!

to write or not to write?

To write is the biggest task -
Difficulties unfold in a jiffy,
Mind is cornered with a thought,
Yet ill-equipped with right words.

The mind wants to share it all -
But the heart is too weak for this,
The nexus is a complex one, for,
What's in the heart comes out in words.

The question remains unanswered -
While the eyes take a journey around,
The feet stuck to the ground, and,
The bone house remains motionless.

To write or not to write?
To think or not to think?
Is that a question?
Can it be answered?

kalaya tasmai namah

Art and Photo by: Suhasini Srihari

"कालाय तस्मै नमः"
Right from the inception of the world, and the universe at large, if there is anything that has moved only in the forward direction, then it is the sole entity called "time". Everyone and everything is a slave to time, for it teaches us to love, to work, to hate, to regret, and to live. "Kalaya Tasmai Namah" translates to mean that "we have to surrender to time eventually". Whatever is our achievement or success, we ought to surrender to time, for it cannot be bought or sold. As with an individual's actions and deeds, time stands as the best witness for it makes sure that what goes around comes back soon, and sometimes in abundance. There is a saying in Kannada, "Kaala... Ellara kaalu yelithade kaala!" which translates to mean, "time will bring every individual to the ground when needed". Time should be revered, and one must respect it in order to bear its fruits.

yadh bhavam tadh bhavathi

"यद भवम तद भवती।"
This is one of those intimate musings that has been reverberating in my mind for a long time now. It is from the Upanishads, and it simply translates to mean: "You are what you think!" Such a heavy meaning is so harmoniously and effectively captured in the rhythm of the Sanskrit Language that it is hard to stop oneself from ruminating about the philosophy that runs deep within the phrase. It seems rather uncomplicated to perceive the true essence of this phrase, conversely, to appropriate it in praxis is too mind boggling and complex the task. The deep driving desires in an individual is what creates thoughts in his/her mind, which then leads to his/her action or the deed. The individual's actions reflect the driving instinct in him/her, and so is advised to one to have a healthy mind to sow healthy relations.

January Insights

Over the galloping mountain ranges by the window side, and the wet roads making the scene more serene, the heart is well in its place. The walk through these calm roads, the absence of the chatter-chatter of the people, and the leaves bearing the reflecting water bubbles, all make ordinary appear surreal. Insights are newly framed and these help to see the sublime beauty in all things big and small, wise and wonderful. To live a new life, to start afresh, and to begin as a child, the innocence is born again.

O the child within feels so delighted, jumping all over the place, and bringing the roof down. After all, there is melody in a child's laughter and little bunny-screams. The home feels new, and so is the whole family, for the newness is not in a new day but in a new mind. Overcoming fears, leaving the ugly past behind, and to march ahead like a true hero is what makes a heart strong. There will always be a hand to hold you, eyes to look after you, and a heart to love you. And all you have to do is, well, just wait.

turning a new leaf over

In the multitudes of memories,
Heart remains beholden to past,
Ecstatic and dull, all make life.
Another day and another year,
Turning a new leaf of hope,
Greater is this desire within,
To capture many memories.
For in a blink, days are in past,
And jailed will be the mind -
Not to species, but to memories.
Calling unto new voices,
Let's look ahead together,
Anticipate the joys and dreams,
Create art, just to be happy -
And live this one life we have.
